The Intercept i2 Oral Fluid Collection Device represents a cutting-edge solution for non-invasive drug testing, designed to streamline specimen collection while ensuring accuracy and reliability. This device is developed to collect 1 mL of oral fluid using a treated cellulose pad, making it ideal for workplace testing, clinical diagnostics, and forensic applications. Its ergonomic design and intuitive features support consistent sample integrity across diverse testing environments.

One of the standout features of the Intercept® i2™ is its volume adequacy indicator, which provides visual confirmation when the required sample volume has been collected. This eliminates guesswork and enhances procedural confidence for both administrators and subjects. The robust pad design further safeguards against collection failures, ensuring that each test meets stringent quality standards.

The device’s three-minute average collection time offers unmatched convenience without compromising precision. Its patented treated pad requires no pre-collection pooling, simplifying the process and reducing the risk of contamination. Additionally, the collector’s ergonomic shape promotes user comfort, making it suitable for supervised or unsupervised collection in virtually any setting.

    Fast, Non-Invasive, Clinical

From a compliance standpoint, the Intercept® i2™ supports directly observed collections without the need for gender-specific personnel or specialized equipment. How to use Intercept i2 Oral Fluid Collection Device

Saliva drug test kits are designed to provide fast, accurate, and non-invasive drug screening. Here's a general guide on how to use them:

Prepare the Donor: Ensure the donor hasn’t eaten, drunk, or chewed gum for 10 minutes. Confirm identity and check the expiration date on the device pouch.

Begin Sample Collection: Remove pad by holding the handle—avoid touching the pad itself. Place pad under tongue (white side up) and rub gently along gum line.

Wait for Indicator: Hold pad in place until the volume adequacy indicator turns blue. This typically takes 3–4 minutes; do not exceed 15 minutes.

Transfer the Sample: Open specimen vial carefully and insert pad fully into the vial. Snap wand against vial edge and screw cap on tightly to seal.

Seal and Label: Apply tamper-evident seal across the cap and down the sides. Donor must date and initial the seal for verification.

Complete Documentation: Fill out the Chain-of-Custody form with all required details. Include donor info, collection time, and selected test panels.

    Read Results

Check the test strip for color changes or indicator lines, comparing them to the provided chart for interpretation.

How to read Saliva Drug Test

    POSITIVE

Only one colored band appears, in the control region (C). No colored band appears in the test region (T) for the drug in question. A positive result indicates that the drug concentration exceeds the detectable level. (T).

    NEGATIVE

Two colored bands appear on the membrane. One band appears in the control region (C) and another band appears in the test region (T) for the drug in question. A negative result indicates that the drug concentration is below the detectable level.

Certain lines may appear lighter or thinner than other lines.

Each line is to be considered a clear reading whether it be faint, light or dark.

    INVALID

Control band fails to appear. Resuhs from any test which has not produced a control band (C) at the specified read time must be discarded. Please review the procedure and repeat with a new test.
