What does the Benzodiazepine Drug Test Dip Card detect?
This test detects Benzodiazepines (BZO) in human urine for preliminary drug screening.
What are benzodiazepines?
Benzodiazepines are prescription medications commonly used to treat anxiety, insomnia, seizures, muscle spasms, and panic disorders. Common examples include alprazolam (Xanax®), diazepam (Valium®), lorazepam (Ativan®), clonazepam (Klonopin®), and temazepam.
Who should use this test?
This test is ideal for hospitals, healthcare providers, rehabilitation centers, occupational health clinics, pain management practices, toxicology laboratories, correctional facilities, and forensic testing organizations.
How quickly are results available?
Results are available in approximately 5 minutes. Results should not be interpreted after 10 minutes.
How accurate is the test?
When used according to the manufacturer's instructions, the test delivers greater than 99% accuracy under recommended testing conditions. All preliminary positive results should be confirmed using GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, or another validated confirmatory laboratory method.
Does this test identify a specific benzodiazepine?
No. This assay screens for the presence of benzodiazepines as a drug class. It does not identify which specific medication is present. Confirmatory laboratory testing is recommended when identification of individual benzodiazepines is required.
How are the results interpreted?
Negative: Two colored lines appear (Control and Test), even if the Test line is faint.
Preliminary Positive: Only the Control line appears with no Test line.
Invalid: No Control line appears. Repeat the test using a new device.
How should the test be stored?
Store the sealed test device between 36°F and 86°F (2°C–30°C). Do not freeze. The product has an approximate shelf life of 24 months from the manufacture date.
