BD Vacutainer One Use Holder - Case of 1000
BD Vacutainer One Use Holder is purpose-built to support safe, efficient, and compliant blood collection. Designed for single use, this holder helps reduce the risk of cross-contamination and aligns with OSHA guidelines for phlebotomy safety. Its compatibility with the full BD Vacutainer blood collection system—including Eclipse™ needles, Safety-Lok™ sets, and push-button sets—makes it a versatile choice for healthcare professionals.
The BD Vacutainer® One Use Holder improves safety by removing the need to clean or reuse holders between patients. Because it is designed for single use, it helps lower the chance of spreading infections and supports proper safety standards in all healthcare settings. As a result, clinics and hospitals can maintain high hygiene standards while also speeding up daily tasks.
In addition, the holder's clear and sturdy body makes it easy to see blood flow during collection. Its curved, easy-to-hold shape gives phlebotomists better control and comfort. Whether used in hospitals, clinics, or mobile units, the holder performs reliably and helps ensure smoother blood collection from start to finish
Designed for Safety. Built for Efficiency
To support sustainability and compliance, BD packages the holders in bulk quantities—typically in bags of 250 or cases of 1,000—making them ideal for high-volume settings. This packaging format not only reduces waste but also ensures that facilities remain stocked and ready for continuous use.
Ultimately, the BD Vacutainer® One Use Holder combines safety, simplicity, and compatibility in a single-use format. Moreover, by reducing contamination risks and aligning with OSHA-recommended practices, it gives healthcare teams the confidence to provide high-quality care. In turn, this leads to more efficient workflows and stronger patient outcomes.
Because it’s compatible with both 13 mm and 16 mm blood collection tubes, the BD Vacutainer One Use Holder adapts easily to a wide range of collection needs. This flexibility simplifies inventory management and reduces the need for multiple holder types. Moreover, its universal fit supports seamless integration into existing BD Vacutainer workflows.

How to Use BD Vacutainer One Use Holder
Prepare Your Materials: Gather all necessary components, including the BD Vacutainer® One Use Holder, a compatible blood collection needle (such as the Eclipse™ or Safety-Lok™), collection tubes, gloves, and a sharps container. Confirm patient identity and explain the procedure.
Assemble the Device: While holding both the pink safety shield and the colored needle cap, twist and remove the white needle cap. Then, insert the needle securely into the holder until it clicks into place. Ensure the needle is firmly attached before proceeding.
Perform the Venipuncture: First, position the patient’s arm and apply a tourniquet to help locate a suitable vein. Then, clean the puncture site with an antiseptic and allow it to dry completely. Once ready, insert the needle into the vein using a standard technique. As soon as blood begins to flow, insert the correct Vacutainer® tube into the holder to start the collection process.
Complete the Draw and Activate Safety: After collecting the required samples, remove the final tube and release the tourniquet. Withdraw the needle from the vein and immediately activate the safety mechanism by pushing the pink safety shield forward until it locks with an audible click.
Dispose of the Device: After completing the blood draw, place the entire holder—needle and all—into an approved sharps container without taking the needle out. This practice helps meet OSHA safety standards and lowers the risk of accidental needlesticks.
Label and Finalize: Next, label each tube with the patient’s name, date, and time of collection. Then, remove your gloves and wash your hands thoroughly. Finally, document the procedure according to your facility’s guidelines.
