What does the Alcohol Drug Test Dip Card detect?
This test detects ethanol (alcohol) in human urine for rapid preliminary alcohol screening.
How does the Alcohol Drug Test Dip Card work?
The test uses an enzyme-based chemical reaction that changes color when alcohol is present in the urine at or above the established cutoff concentration. Results are interpreted by comparing the test pad color to the included color chart.
Who should use this test?
This test is intended for employers, occupational health clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, healthcare providers, correctional facilities, law enforcement agencies, and forensic testing organizations.
How quickly are results available?
Results are available in approximately 2 to 5 minutes. Results should not be interpreted after the time specified in the product instructions.
What is the cutoff level?
The Alcohol Drug Test Dip Card has a cutoff concentration of 20 mg/dL, which is approximately equivalent to a 0.02% blood alcohol concentration (BAC) for screening purposes.
Can this test determine intoxication or impairment?
No. This is a preliminary screening test designed to detect the presence of alcohol in urine. It should not be used alone to determine impairment, intoxication, or legal blood alcohol concentration.
Should positive results be confirmed?
Yes. Any preliminary positive result should be confirmed using an appropriate laboratory method or other accepted confirmatory alcohol testing procedure when required by workplace policy or applicable regulations.
How should the test be stored?
Store the sealed test device between 36°F and 86°F (2°C–30°C). Do not freeze. The product has an approximate shelf life of 24 months from the manufacture date.
