Description

HOW TO USE:

  1. If stored at refrigerated temperatures, allow test to reach room temperature prior to testing.
  2. Urinate into a clean, dry cup or container.
  3. Remove the test strip from the foil pouch.
  4. With arrows pointing toward the urine, dip the test strip vertically in the urine sample for at least 5 seconds.
  5. Do not pass the maximum line (MAX) on the test strip when dipping the strip into the urine sample.
  6. Remove the test strip from the urine sample, place it on a non-absorbent flat surface and begin timing.
  7. As the test begins to work, you may notice a light red flow moving across the test region (T) and control region (C) on the test strip.
  8. Positive results may appear as early as 60 seconds, however, wait at least 3 minutes to read the results.
  9. If no red line appears, wait 1 minute longer.
  10. Do not read the result after 10 minutes.

HOW TO READ THE RESULTS:

PREGNANT
The presence of two red lines in both the test region (T) and the control region (C) means that you are probably pregnant. One line may be lighter than the other. They do not have to match.

NOT PREGNANT
The presence of only one red line in the control region (C) means you are probably not pregnant.

INVALID RESULT
If no red line appears in the control region (C) after 3 minutes, the result is invalid and you should repeat the test with another Home Pregnancy Test Strip. The Strip is not reusable. Although the test is highly accurate in detecting pregnancy, a low incidence of false results (positive when no pregnancy exists or negative when pregnancy is present) can occur. Check with your physician if you get unexpected or inconsistent test results. Certain health conditions such as an ovarian cyst or an ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy outside the uterus) can cause a false or irregular result with your test. Oral contraceptives, painkillers, antibiotics and other common drugs do not affect the result of the test.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

  • How does the test work?
Your body produces a special hormone during pregnancy known as human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The Home Pregnancy Test Strip will detect the presence of hCG in the urine as early as the first day of a missed period.
  • When can I use the test?
The test can be used any time of the day and as early as the first day of the missed period. If you are pregnant, the first morning urine contains the more hormone.

  • How accurate is the test?
In both laboratory and consumer clinical studies, the Home Pregnancy Test Strip has been proven to be greater than 99% accurate.
  • Which factors may affect the test result?
Drugs which contain hCG (such as Pregnyl, Profasi, Pergonl, APL) can give a false positive result. Alcohol, oral contraceptives, painkillers, antibiotics or hormone therapies that do not contain hCG should not affect the test result.
  • What should I do if I get a positive result?
A positive result means that your urine contains hCG and you are probably pregnant. See your doctor to confirm that you are pregnant and to discuss the steps you should take.
  • How do I know that the test was run properly?
The appearance of a red line in the control region (C) tells you that you followed the test procedure properly and the proper amount of urine was absorbed. If the line in this Region fails to develop, you should repeat the test.
  • What should I do if I get a negative result?
A negative result means that no hCG has been detected in your urine and you are probably not pregnant. If you do not start your period within a week of its due date, repeat the test with a new test strip. If you receive the same result after repeating the test and you still do not get your period, you should see your doctor.

If you suspect that you are pregnant, we encourage you to take the following steps to increase your chances for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

  1. Use the Home Pregnancy Test Strip to detect pregnancy when your period is late. You can begin better prenatal care as soon as you learn of your pregnancy.
  2. If you get a positive result, it is advisable to visit your doctor immediately to begin your prenatal care.
  3. When pregnant, it is advisable to maintain a well-balanced diet, stop smoking, and reduce your intake of alcohol.
