Can hair be collected from a hairbrush and submitted for Drug Testing?
It is inadvisable to use hair collected from a hairbrush for hair drug testing for a number of reasons. Legally it is not allowed, as a proper chain of custody must be set up for drug screening and testing during employment drug screening. There is also the risk that the hair may be contaminated or simply doesn't belong to the person that is being tested. For parents checking their children for drug use they may submit hair this way but should be aware that the laboratory may discard the sample if not collected and packaged properly.
